Dakshin" means south in Sanskrit — and that's exactly where our food comes from. South Indian cuisine spans five incredible states: Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Kerala. Each region has its own traditions, spices and techniques, shaped by the land and the people who've cooked there for generations. That heritage is in every dish we make.
But here's where we do things differently. We take those deep, aromatic South Indian flavours and serve them in formats you already love — burgers, bites, wraps. Think of it as the best of both worlds: the boldness of Indian spice in a package that feels instantly familiar. The result? People who've never tried Indian food before come back for seconds. And thirds.
Dakshin Eats started as a passion project — a family dream to bring real South Indian cooking out of the restaurant and into the streets. Over the past five years, we've served thousands of people across Western Sydney at weddings, markets, corporate events, school fairs, and everything in between. We use only fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the finest halal meats and spices that have been a part of our family cooking for generations.
Whether you're a lifelong fan of Indian cuisine or you've never tried it before — you're welcome at the Dakshin Eats trailer. Come hungry.
